Still need avalanche control in the driveways of Spokane Washington

Well...... we are still getting piles of snow here in Spokane. I think there have been maybe a few days we haven't gotten any snow since the first big one. It's a beautiful blue sky here right now but we are supposed to get 6 more inches tonight. Below are some Pictures i took yesterday as Doug and I were running errands.

Hope everyone is staying warm and healthy through all of this. I know all of you on the other side of the state are getting a lot of snow for what you normally get too.

This one is Megans parking spot in the driveway. We had to start piling snow at the end of one half of it because there was no place else to put it.

Not sure if you can see very well what I was trying to get in this one. Every entrance to every store parking lot looks like this or worse. Its solid ice, the ice of every entrance we went in and out of today scrapped the bottom of my car. If your lucky thats the worst of it because in some cases you just slide right out into the street. Thankfully the piles of plowed snow go out into the street so far, its enough room to not get hit.

This one is the main street that goes all through Spokane. In most cases you really cant even see what stores your passing, just the top of the buildings. We passed Megans work yesterday with out even realizing it. The really dangerous part is that you can't see around the birms when a car is pulling out. it's actually safer at night because you can at least see headlights to know when cars are coming.

This is crazy.... we find our driveway when we come home by the break in the snow!!!

Here is our need for avalanche control.

More amazing snow pictures!!!

Well I will start by saying it warmed up a bit yesterday. We are hovering around freezing, but it's enough to start melting what we have. the main streets are bare, side streets are a mess still. I'm telling you, I have never been so happy to see rain!!! If your getting sick of snow pics just let me know. I have some from my phone I still need to dowload too. They won't be as good a quality but around town was an amazing sight to see. Store parking lot snow piles from plowing were so high that in most cases you could only see the very top of buildings. We did have a nice Christmas though, We did Turkey and it turned out perfect!!! quiet day at home together staying warm. Hope you all had a nice Christmas too.

Below you will see Doug stuck in the back yard!!! we had to go back and shake the snow off our Arborvitae bushes a few times. Take into consideration that he is already on higher ground than normal because of the snow pack he is standing on then the snow is at waist as well.

I took this picture from the very back of the yard, I normally look up to this tree, but as you can see i am level with it here.

This picture was taken from our patio. Me and my next door neighbor rest our elbows on that fence while we chat (during the summer, when it's warm) just to give you some perspective on how high the snow got.

Of course this is my snow project which lasted from December 18th until it finally fell yesterday, December 27th. This picture was also taken from the patio on the 26th.

And here is a front view taken early am on the 26th. it was the warmth that made it fall. Crazy!!!

We are over four feet of snow now!!! Never seen anything like it.

First of course is my snow project. Day Five another foot or more of snow and Its still hanging on

For those of you who are familiar with the area, the picture below is the car dealership by costco though you can't see any of the cars :)

This one is Sprague, main road through the valley.

This is Woodruff, Which is the road we turn onto to get out of our development.

And this is our house. We are needing some avalanche control on the sides of the driveway from all the snow shoveling!!!! Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm!!!

Kims Snow Project

First I had to show you this, The leaves barely peeking out that you see are my rose bushes and the branches at the end of the walk is my lilac bush. Granted thats snow we shoveled too but you can see in the yard that the pile isn't much higher than the actual snow.

This one is my project, its our back deck. Yesterday around noon the snow fell off of the longer portion of the deck but as you can see on the shorter portion it is spiraling and hanging on. I took this picture this morning so two days now and still doesn't look like it's going to give. If you look at the far right side on the back, you can see how far it is hanging over on the back side. Thankfully all the snow is very light and fluffy so were just leaving it on the deck to see how high it will get. Were supposed to get 6 more inches on Sunday and they are pretty much calling for snow on and off through Christmas. Definately going to be a white christmas for us!!!
